I Am Changing, Less And Less Asleep

Brooke Fraser is one of my absolute favorite writers and artists.  Her album “Albertine” is brilliant and I don’t know how she did it, but with her song “Shadowfeet” she has crafted what may very well be the perfect song.  It is certainly one of my favorite songs and speaks to me from a deep place.  As I’ve been walking out my story, specifically the past few months, this song has become an anthem of mine and I listen to it often when my heart feels overwhelmed…

… on days like today.

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Toward home, a land that I’ve never seen
I am changing: less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
And i have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
There’s distraction buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it’s easier to stay
But I’ve heard rumors of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way
YOU MAKE ALL THINGS NEW…

This song has spoken to me through different stages of my walk with the Lord. You are right, it could very well be one of the most perfect songs. Each time I hear it, it opens one more door to a new understanding of Our Father and how steadfast and perfect His love is. Thanks for the reminder!

i love brooke fraser. i am such a words girl, and she kills it in the lyrics over and over again...

"when the world has fallen out from under me, i'll be found in You, still standing..." i've clung to that line for months now... so praying it's true in my own life.

I remember a couple years back I was looking for some good music by a girl. I had listened to enough Imogen heap and Bjork that I was ready for a change. Brooke Fraser was who I turned to and her album Albertine mesmerized me.
One of the best albums I have heard.
And you are right, Shadowfeet is an amazing song.
I love your good choices in music.

Dude love her and love that album! I said to one of my friends a while back about how that album never gets old. I can not listen to it for a while, and then randomly pop it in, and it feels new. She is truly anointed, and her lyrics are authentic.
