Back To Narnia

I’m a big fan of C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” series. I read most of the 7 books in the series when I was in grade school and remember being struck by the creativity and way that Lewis used words to paint a vivid picture of this place called “Narnia.”  The way in which Lewis uses allegory to tell the story of Narnia has always been powerful to me and I keep saying I’m going to go back and reread the books.  Maybe I will do that this year.

The third film to be adapted from the Chronicles of Narnia series, The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, is set for release December 10, and I’m pretty excited!  The first official trailer was just released today and from the looks of it, the bar will once again be raised in bringing this powerful story to life on the big screen. I can’t wait!

Aslan is on the move!

Are you a fan of C.S. Lewis’ Narnia series?

I found your blog through your guest post on Lindsey Nobles' site. Thanks for posting about this - I didn't realize that a date had been set for the film release. Looking forward to it!

I'm looking forward to it. I've read all seven of the books. The Dawn Treader was one of my least favorites, though, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

Maybe I should go reread it too - perhaps I missed something.

That looks so freaking good! I'm beyond excited. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chronicles of Narnia. Prince Caspian was my favorite of the books but I love them all and I can't wait to see this one in the theaters. Go Aslan indeed!!!

Absolutely LOVE the Narnia series. I was so stoked to see this trailer earlier today. It doesn't get much better than Narnia at Christmastime! :)

Oh my goodness, I'm SO excited. I tried reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe when I was younger but didn't really get into it. I tried again in college and Soaked. It. Up. I've read the Chronicles of Narnia through a couple of times since then and love them. Lewis did such an incredible job with the characters and with Narnia and portraying Christ through all of it. Each time I read them, I find something new I didn't see before. Can't wait until Christmas!

I love C.S. Lewis & the Chronicles of Narnia books. Other than Tolkien, he is probably my favorite fiction/fantasy author. I can't wait for the movie!

I am a big fan as well. I actually own most of the old BBC version and now this one as well. Read the books as a kid and my kids have read the books. This weekend my son and I went to see the A-Team when we saw the movie posters for the new movie. I was so excited and beside myself. It's like I am 10 years old all over again. Go ASLAN!!!

I've been reading them lately - I took a recent pause, but I bought a collected works hardbound book (so pretty) and it's in chronological order as opposed to the published order, but I have so far read Magician's Nephew, L.W.W. and The Horse and His Boy... can't wait to read the rest!
